We had a wonderful afternoon on Sunday 18th June, listening to the sounds of Doctor Jazz, a great local 7-piece jazz ensemble plus Lyn Falvey, their fabulous lead singer. The Tithe Barn provided the beautiful setting for the event. We’d hoped to hold the concert outside, but due to the unreliable weather, we held the concert inside. That didn’t stop a number of attendees from enjoying the sunshine before the concert, having their picnic lunches in the field behind the barn.
The band and singer Lyn kept us well entertained with jazz classics, older popular songs jazzed up and a few from the American song book, their 40 years of experience showing in their skill. We held a super raffle during the interval.
This was the first jazz event we’ve held and we’ll certainly consider holding one again in the future.
